The wiki is back
Submitted by admin on August 10, 2008 - 5:08pm. ::
The Worcester Activist wiki was down for about a month due to a serious technical problem.
The problem's solved, and the wiki is back. It's very possible that there are spam pages or defaced pages still on the wiki. If you notice anything, please post a comment here with a link to the messed-up page.

New server for worcesteractivist.org
Submitted by admin on January 10, 2008 - 4:26pm. ::
As of about 5 minutes ago, worcesteractivist.org is running on a new server.
We have been using a shared account that crashes every day or so. We expect the new server to be much more stable.
If you notice any problems (and we're sure there are many), please e-mail mike.benedetti@gmail.com.
Thanks!
Worcester Activist team

Please sign online petition for safe needle disposal in Worcester

If you have questions or would like to get more involved, email cleanupworcester@gmail.com.
It's time to clean up Worcester! We, the undersigned, support taking used syringes off our streets and out of our parks and playgrounds with safe disposal boxes for syringes, as proposed by the Worcester Board of Health's Operation Yellow Box. Safe syringe disposal will protect the public health and safety of all Worcester residents. Currently, without safe syringe disposal measures, used syringes are found littering city parks, streets, and trash bags. They put children, pets, and adults who use city parks and sidewalks and trash disposal workers at risk of injury and infection from needlesticks. Operation Yellow Box will make our streets and parks safer.

Check out this great video from Common Craft, "Wikis in Plain English":

What you can do: Worcester Wal-Mart
Submitted by admin on May 11, 2007 - 8:08am. :: Wal-Mart
Thought I'd pass this along . . . .
- Write a Letter to the Editor ASAP. Even a few sentences long. If anyone needs help in writing one or wants samples, they can contact worcesterfirst@gmail.com or by visit http://www.worcesterfirst.org.
- Come to the Zoning Board of Appeals hearing—this is huge. We need as many people to go as possible. June 25th is the tentatively scheduled date, and we will get final confirmation in another 2 weeks. Monday, 5:30pm in the Worcester Public Library Saxe Room.
