How to attend a City Council meeting
From Worcester Activist wiki
- Go to the third floor of Worcester City Hall, 7pm Tuesdays.
- The meeting will probably start a few minutes late. No need to show up early.
- Take a copy of the agenda from the table by the door to the Council Chamber. The items will be taken in a different order, but the agenda will help orient you.
- If you are there for a particular issue, talk to the City Clerk, a City Councilor, or the Mayor beforehand. They can give you an idea of whether the issue will be discussed, or just referred to committee without comment.
- If you would like to speak, talk to the City Clerk, a City Councilor, or the Mayor beforehand. (Worcester is a small city, and your politicians will be happy to help with this sort of thing.)

You can get the agenda for the City Council meeting ahead of time from the City Clerk's webpage[1]. It's usually up by the preceding Friday afternoon.
If you want to address something which is not on the agenda, go on a week when the council sets the agenda (they and the City Manager alternate weeks). There is an item early on the agenda in those weeks called "Items in the Public Interest." At that point, the mayor will ask if there is any member of the public with anything to address to the council. That's your chance!
