In 1997 the residents, business leaders and partners from area churches and institutions came together to form a strong coalition of effort and energy. Their purpose was to more effectively revitalize and build community along the Pleasant Street corridor of downtown Worcester. In 1999 the Pleasant Street Neighborhood Network Center was born. The Center strives to create a safe, attractive and livable community with people of varied means and backgrounds.
