The Worcester Social Forum is no longer an active organization, but it is still a great idea!

The initiative for this project began after the 3rd World Social Forum was held in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in January 2003. The forum in Worcester is building on the experiences of local forums already organized in the spirit of Porto Alegre, in cities such as New York, Washington, D.C., and Quebec City. We meet in order to familiarize group meembers with one another's projects, establish networks for community and global organizing, and aim towards a mini-Worcester Social forum culminating in a larger, more inclusive city-wide forum.
